Reconstruction of the Central Botanical Garden in Almaty
- The project's goal was to restore the botanical garden considerately, preserving its integrity and originality, modernizing its infrastructure, and expanding its green space.
- Key reconstruction work includes:
- construction of three modern entrance pavilions;
- renovation of the Northern Parterre, preserving the original style of the 1932 design while adding modern elements;
- landscaping of 17.7 hectares of public spaces;
- increasing the water volume for plant irrigation by 2,760 m³ per day;
- installation of 13 km of irrigation ditches, multi-kilometer drip irrigation systems, and automatic watering;
- installation of 1,500 ground lighting fixtures;
- installation of 130 CCTV cameras;
- installation of 250 benches;
- renovation of 50,000 m² of road surface.
- Green resources:
- 174,300 new plants were planted, including rare species and exclusive varieties;
- more than 1,300 new trees (assorted pine, arborvitaes, cherries, apples, pears, plums, oaks, maples, birches, and lindens);
- 40,000 shrubs, 130,000 grasses and perennials, and 3,000 roses.
